Happy 6th Birthday, Bailey!

August 4, 2009

Bailey started out her super birthday with waking up to a new bike and helmet (forgot picture!), and then out to breakfast at IHOP with Guh W.

Her favorite part is when they sing to her and bring her ice cream!

About the time she got home from breakfast, it was time for her Cooking Party to start. She had 11 friends over and they decorated aprons and chef hats, made their own pizzas, decorated cupcakes, and played games. It was a crazy, but fun party! Best of all, Dad stayed home from work to help with the party and celebrate Bailey's special day!

OoPs!
We forgot to sing "Happy Birthday" until Bailey was almost finished with her cupcake!

Meanwhile,
Guh W took Benson away from the party (which Bailey was sad about, but he was contagious with Fifth's Disease) and they went to Isaac's (cousin) house and had his new favorite food...CHEESEBURGERS! (which he can eat all of, and loves the "BIG PICKLES!")

After the party, we all took a short rest, and then went as a family to Red Robin, Bailey's favorite restaurant. Then the rest of the family came over for cake, ice cream and ....
...PRESENTS!
Bailey was totally spoiled by her friends and family!
Grandmas and Grandpas totally set her up for school with backpack, lunchbox, and LOTS of clothes! She was most excited about her "CREDIT CARD" (Wal-mart Gift card) from the Stewarts and her $$ from Memaw. It was burning a hole in her pocket and we had to go to the store first thing the next morning.
At SIX, Bailey can:
READ!
Ride a bike with no pedals!
Help take care of siblings!
Make her own sandwich!
Change a diaper!
Play Piano
Do addition and subtraction
AND...
Starts KINDERGARTEN!

Best Buddies and Best Baby

The Buddies and the Baby.
Bailey and Benson helping make pancakes.
It's sad. Just as Bailey is getting ready to start all day kindergarten, Benson and her have become best buds. They play all day long together, and pretty nicely, most of the time. They've both gotten old enough to play well with each other, for the most part. It's so nice that they play together and entertain each other, and it's so fun to watch and listen too. They are so cute and sweet to one another...
...like Benson telling Bailey to 'come sit my lap' when she was scared of the thunder (she's still a little traumatized by the hurricane!). She 'sat on his lap' and he hugged her and sang to her and told her sweet little things to comfort her, like "Don't woeey, Bubba." (don't worry, Bubba). He's such a tender little boy...
...and she's so sweet to always share with him.

Brynley and Benson have also gotten old enough to play pretty well with each other (for short amounts of time...Benson looses interest pretty quick, since Bryn can't do much). Benson loves that Bryn can sit up now and do more things. He's quite interested in watching her play, helping her play, and laughing at her play (because baby's are just so funny!). Brynley thinks he's quite an interesting creature, too, and loves to laugh at/with Benson! So heartwarming to watch.
(btw: notice Bryn's sitting up now...a new development in the last month.)
Bailey snuck into Bryn's room while she was sleeping and thought she was 'so cute' and I thought so too. She really is the best baby ever.

seven months

If she looks really long in this picture, it's because she IS! Bryn had her 6 month check-up last week (three days before she turned 7 months!). She is 26 inches long, which is the 75%!
If she looks chubby and delicious in this picture...it's just FLUFF! She only weighs 14.5lbs! (10%)! She is by far, the smallest of all the fries. (BTW: her head is also in the 75%!) She has two teeth, gorgeous blue eyes that stop strangers in their tracks, lots of poody rolls (despite the fluffness), drool that doesn't end, a skiff of strawberry blond peach fuzz on top, and the tiniest, skinniest little feet I've ever seen. Bryn loves to jump in her jumperoo, play with the aquarium mobile blanket, laugh at brother and sister, and flirt with EVERYONE! At family parties, I can tell who has held her last by her signature she leaves behind on her admirers...a soggy shoulder. Bryn has the happiest, most easy-going disposition that all find remarkable. Which made it even more sad last week when she was so sad and sick with her 3 shots she got at her check up.
But now, she's all smiles again.

Hard to believe that such a sweet, dainty little girl could leave such a site...
OOPS!! What's that?!?!?!?!?
That is what happens when you get Bryn to FINALLY drink the bottle of prune juice, so she will FINALLY do the deuce. It was a deuce that would put a gorilla to shame. Filled the diaper so much that it all wouldn't fit and a tennis ball size pile fell out of the diaper, onto the floor.
Now I'm hungry!

4th of July!

Happy Independence Day!
We celebrated the 4th by hosting a potluck BBQ with our family and neighbors. It was SO much FUN! Everyone brought food to share, we had a bike parade, and we all chipped in and rented a GIANT slip n' slide and our neighbors set up their blow-up water slide, too. Then we ended the night with a BANG from some fireworks.

BIKE PARADE!
We decorated bikes and then the kids paraded them around our cul-de-sac. Of course, the little boys (Benson, Gavin, and Ike) kinda played musical bikes, and rode each others and random undecorated ones out of the garage. But they had fun!

Fun or Not Fun?
Benson has decided that swimsuits and sunscreens are the root of all evil and cries and screams when I put them on. He wouldn't even get near the water when he was in his swim suit. As soon as we dressed him in regular clothes, he was more than happy to get wet. What a nut.

Bailey is always ready for some hydro-fun!
Oh, did I mention it was over 100 degrees with the heat index?
So Bryn hung out with Papa indoors...away from the heat and water, and crazy kids!
My little Sunday Patriots!
Not only did they have cute matching outfits to wear on the 4th of July (courtesy of Guh W.), {which I didn't get a picture of, because they were too busy running around with friends/cousins} but they had matching 5th of July (Sunday) outfits for them (Courtesy of Guh L). (Little did she realize! Bailey's dress is from 2 years ago, Benson's shorts from Christmas, and Bryn's outfit was Bailey's...5 yrs ago!)
