stars and stripes forever

Cutest dress made by Guh Leseberg

Cutest boy in his USA stripes!
(He's mad by-the-way because Bailey and Gavin were running thru the sprinklers at Guh and Papa's house, and well, Benson can't RUN!)

ace of cakes

Brandon made my favorite cake for my birthday...Strawberry Cake with Cream-Cheese Frosting (I make the frosting). He bakes, frosts, and decorates it. Every year the decorating gets more creative, using whatever he can find in the cupboard. He made the 27 out of sprinkles! I only wish I could have enjoyed it more. (the puking hasn't stopped).
The day before my b-day I had an ultrasound. Thankfully there is only ONE sea monkey in there, and I heard it's heart beat. My official due date is December 23, 2008. But I will have a c-section at least one week before that. I had pictures from my ultrasound, but they weren't good at all, so I didn't bother scanning them.

King of the Ottoman Empire

Benson has learned how to climb up everything, ottomans, chairs, couches. The only trouble is getting down. Usually it involves crying (either he falls off, or I remove him, which makes him mad). Nope, still not walking.

a serious case of comb-overs

Benson got his first haircut yesterday. His hair only grows down the middle of his head, which for a while made for a really cool mohawk. The mohawk stood about 4 inches tall at it's prime. But for the last few months, the mohawk has gotten too tall and falls over, resulting in some serious comb overs.

little people love little people

Bailey and Benson have been so good to play together this week while I've been out on the couch. They played Little People together for about an hour yesterday. Benson likes to see what he can put through the windows and doors, like his feet, hands, and binkis.

passing the time

I've been REALLY sick this week. While I'm in the bathroom puking up my internal organs, Benson passes the time by playing with the basketball and baseballs in my closet.

dance parties, picnics, and cookie monsters

Bailey and Benson get their groove on.

Friday night we had a picnic/movie/sleepover night. We had a picnic in the family room (we didn't want to get attacked by the swarms of mating lovebugs that are in 'season' right now.) We then watched "Mr.Magorium's Wonder Emporium" for movie night and had a 'sleep over' in Bailey's room. Bailey slept in her tent in her room, Brandon on the floor next to her, and I slept on Bailey's bed. Brandon and I got little sleep, but Bailey said it was 'the best night of my WHOLE life!' which made it totally worth it.

I made chocolate chip cookies on Saturday to take to our neighbor's pool party. Benson and Bailey were SO excited for them. They are my little cookie monsters!

what's for lunch....

here's the scene...
It's lunchtime, and there's a bowl of Spaghetti O's (which are Bailey and Benson's new favorite lunch) on the table. 'Princess' Spaghetti O's to be exact, which have little crown noodles instead of just O's. Benson is already about 1/2 way thru his bowl of O's and I can't shovel them in his mouth fast enough. Bailey comes to the table...

Bailey: "Um, what exactly is this?" (looking at the O's like its a heaping pile of doo-doo)
ME: "It's the Princess ones. Remember, you picked them out?"
Bailey: "Oh." (grimacing)
ME: "They taste exactly the same as the other ones."
Bailey: "Are you sure? Because if I die, I die forever you know!"

At least she has gotten more clever with her arguments for not eating. And, apparently they did taste the same, because we had no further comments, and she didn't die from eating them.
