She may not be a "Legs McLeseberg," but she's the new generation of "Legs." Growing up, my dad always recruited one of us kids to be the "Legs" while he worked on things. Now Bailey is that "Legs" for her dad. She loves to help, and is really good at it. Saturday she helped Brandon and Papa drain the water heaters. She was the "legs" and would run in and tell me what they needed (screwdrivers, drinks, etc), and then take it back. Good help is hard to find!

happy 4th of july!
Waiting for the fireworks to start...surprisingly the babies (Benson and Isaac) just sat on the blanket and watched for awhile. (until they were too cute to resist and got picked-up)

In between fireworks Bailey and Gavin entertained themselves by 'rearranging' Guh's flags in her yard.
Benson LOVED the fireworks. He would 'oooh' and 'aaahhh', and clap for the ones he really liked (like the flares that shoot straight up).
He got pretty snugly at the end...it was 10pm after all! Even Bailey was asking to go home and go to bed!
"Oooh Look! Daddy bought us Fireworks!"
Brandon and Jamie were like 12 year old boys again. For the first time in 30+ years, their dad bought fireworks...after seeing how much fun the grand kids had with them.

splish, splash!
We got a kiddie pool yesterday, and boy, is it worth every penny! We have a neighborhood pool, that is free and close, but it is always crowded, doesn't open until 11am, and it is such a hassle sometimes to load everything/one up. This was great...we got in our suits, and went in the backyard, at about 9:30am (hey, it was already 90 degrees!). Benson loved it...just sat there and splashed and crawled around for nearly 2 hours! Gavin came over too and he and Bailey had so much fun together.

Gavin and Bailey mostly ran through the pool on the way to playing soccer, jumping on the trampoline, and loading up the squirters (which I used to squirt them and keep them cool on the trampoline). Benson discovered the soccer goal, and thought it was oh-so-cool (it says "SCORE!" when you make a goal).

Best of all....I got to work on tanning my cave flesh, and the kids were totally pooped out afterwards (and starving)!
eating like a big boy!
Benson now insists on eating off of his own plate (not just his tray), and uses a fork. We've been eating a lot of mashed potatoes to help him learn how to eat like a big boy. (They stick to the fork, and other food sticks to them!) The first time he tried this was at a restaurant, and he was so excited about having his own plate, that he guarded it with both hands wrapped around the plate. I wish I would have had my camera with me!
